Hold our Kombucha, because we’ve got something in the works that you’re gonna love!
Welcome To Peru!
We’ve put together an unforgettable mix of activities in a breathtaking country that offers you:
Deep connections with like-minded people.
This isn’t your typical guided tour with people you’ll never actually connect with – this is an opportunity to make lifelong friends and experience the unique connection that only comes on adventures. Complete with deep conversations after a tasty meal, inside jokes and genuine laughter, and the chance to allow yourself to be truly seen and valued for what you contribute to this beautiful world. Our community is seriously epic.
The opportunity to see the best people, places, and things that Peru has to offer.
From Inca ruins and turquoise lakes to local markets and spectacular hikes, Peru is literally teeming with treasure. We cater to the adventurous heart, so you’ll get the opportunity to travel and explore, devour local cuisine, and meet amazing locals who welcome our group with open arms.
Fun.
Yeah, we said the F-word! All of our adventures are packed with F-bombs because being playful while soaking up life’s fun and enjoyment is what fills us up and sparks true joy.
A healthy dose of stillness and peace of mind.
Get grounded and let go of the noise, stress, and drama that keeps you up at night. When you make time to savor the simple pleasures brought to you by your very own senses, time slows down, mindfulness returns, and you find your center.
Delicious food that’s tailored to your needs and preferences.
If you’re anything like us, you love food! And we’re guessing you also love your body and prefer to avoid polluting it with foods that don’t vibe for you. On our retreats, you’ll never have to worry about hunting for a restaurant you can eat at or getting stuck somewhere with foods you can’t or prefer not to eat. We work with local chefs and restaurants to create menus tailored to meet your preferences while maintaining the flavor and experience of the destination. YUM!
Self-actualization.
When you challenge yourself to try new things like traveling solo to a foreign country, immersing yourself amongst strangers, or pushing your physical self to new heights, you’ll become aware of who you are in a new and different way. And yes, we’ll put some money on it – that you’ll find you’re physically stronger, more emotionally resilient, and way more powerful than you realized – in our books, that’s a takeaway worth its weight in gold and something that can’t be found on a typical all-inclusive vacation.
Inner transformation.
Find Your Zen: Make space to stretch and grow as a human and to reflect on who you are, who you’ve been, and who you want to be. Peru has this magical vibe that sends you within to seek your highest self and we’ve seen people walk away totally changed and ready to climb any metaphorical mountain.

The trekking retreat in Peru exceeded my expectations!
“From the delicious food (meeting all of my dietary restrictions), spectacular sites, adventure, like-minded individuals, cozy accommodations to our experienced trail guides – Adam and Vanessa took care of everything which only added to this magical trip hiking through the Andes into the Amazon. Our visit to Machu Picchu was the icing on the cake and wonderful end to a fabulous and much-needed vacation!”
This retreat is special and an incredible way to experience Peru.
But before we dive in, let’s make one thing clear…
Our Retreats Are For People That Want The All-Inclusive Experience, But With A Little More Kick…
There’s nothing wrong with the typical all-inclusive model, but wouldn’t it be great to take that same concept and give it a little more umph? We’ve redefined “all-inclusive” to bring you more variety, more adventure, and more intimate connections with your fellow travelers.
Forget sitting around all day on some tourist-laden beach or by a crowded pool with blaring music… We prefer getting off the tourist track to EXPLORE the earth’s treasures and EXPERIENCE the local culture. We’re all about embarking on interesting, interactive experiences with our posse of adventure-minded enthusiasts – you can sit by the pool quite literally anywhere, but this kind of adventure? Carpe diem, friend.
We’re not into food that’s been sitting out on a buffet all day, the same choices again and again. How about fresh farm-to-table meals, cooked up into local delicacies that make you excited to be alive! Drooling yet? Here, have seconds.
Let’s go beyond basic entertainment. Feeling limited by a corporate resort’s idea of fun is not what we’re about. This isn’t version 2.0 of Cancun in Peru, where you find yourself roaming from pool to beach to buffet to bar, rinse repeat and repeat again. We fill your days with a variety of totally captivating and unique experiences that you can’t find anywhere else. You can find a million huge resorts with the typical all-inclusive stuff (snorkeling, tennis, golf, huge crowds, cover bands) pretty much anywhere, but what we’re offering is a living, breathing adventure, that’s curated for people who want more than the status quo. Hand-picked by the Head Adventurers In Charge.
All you have to do is show up in Peru and…
- Be ready for an experience you’ll remember forever (and ever and ever)
- Get excited to make lifelong connections within your group of amazing individuals
- Show up with your adventure pants on, locked, loaded and ready for action
- Stop worrying about what comes next or whether or not you can eat the food
BECAUSE WE HAVE IT ALL COVERED!
Life-Changing!
“The Peru retreat was so amazing it is hard to put into words how much it was life-changing to me. This retreat was one that I physically trained for yet I never imagined how it would affect me in an emotional way. It was very fulfilling to be able to train for an adventure and then experience the hardest thing I have ever done and mentally push myself further than I ever thought I could. This was the 9th Retreat I attended with Bee The Wellness but this retreat was one that went beyond anything I imagined. Daily I woke up to views I never thought I would see in person. The trek itself and the guides as well as being part of this amazing trip with a tribe of the Bee The Wellness Community led by Vanessa and Adam Lambert is something that is not to be missed. This experience was more than a trip to Machu Picchu, Peru. This trip was all about the journey, physically and spiritually and I am a different person from attending this retreat and something I think everyone needs to experience in their lives. Bucket list trip, check! And much much more! The most rewarding experience of my life thus far!”

Check Out The Detailed Itinerary! ExpandDay One Sunday, March 26th – CUSCO | ARRIVE AND ACCLIMATE
During your acclimation days, take time to explore the city of Cusco. We recommend you spend your first days in Cusco resting, eating light, drinking plenty of water, and avoiding alcohol, tobacco, or any substances that might interfere with the good delivery of oxygen to the body or cause dehydration.
You may also want to try our delicious coca leaf tea, a Peruvian beverage, which is known to help with altitude sickness.
Meet and greet dinner with other guests and your coaches.
Day Two Monday, March 27th – CUSCO | ACCLIMATE AND ENJOY CUSCO
Cusco, a city in the Peruvian Andes, was once the capital of the Inca Empire and is now known for its archaeological remains and Spanish colonial architecture.
Plaza de Armas is the central square in the old city, with arcades, carved wooden balconies, and Incan wall ruins. The baroque Santo Domingo Convent was built on top of the Incan Temple of the Sun (Qoricancha) and has archaeological remains of Inca stonework.
Enjoy breakfast at your leisure in the hotel. We will enjoy lunch and dinner as a group at a selection of some of Cusco’s most recommended dining establishments.
Day Three Tuesday, March 28th – Cusco | One The Way To Soraypampa
After an early breakfast, your Mountain Lodges of Peru (MLP) guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel in Cusco.
Visit the Quillarumiyoc archaeological site on the way to the town of Mollepata.
Next, you will stop in the mountain village of Mollepata for a short break before ascending a winding mountain road to a site called Marcoccasa. Here you will begin our hike to Soraypampa along a picturesque path called the “Camino Real” (Royal Path), which is also a good opportunity to acclimate to the higher altitude.
As you round the final turn of the Camino Real, the Salkantay Lodge will come into view. Standing like a sentry behind the lodge is the glacier peak of Mt. Salkantay, among the most sacred in Inca mythology and the highest in the region (6,270 m/20,600 ft).
After a warm welcome from the Soraypampa staff, you will settle in your room and recharge energy before meeting your guide in the lounge for refreshments and a briefing of the next day’s activities.
Day Four Wednesday, March 29th – Soraypampa | Hike To Lake Humantay
Day four presents another opportunity to gauge your altitude acclimatization with a half-day hike to Lake Humantay. After breakfast, you begin an ascent up the slopes that border the plateau behind the Salkantay Lodge.
An hour and a half later, after making your way over the final hill, you will be stunned to see the turquoise water of the lake, made even more spectacular by the sight of the Humantay glacier looming behind it. Here you will have a chance to relax, enjoy a snack, meditate in the tranquility of this magical spot, admire a traditional offering to Mother Earth or immerse into an overwhelming kayak ride in the Lake Humantay, getting an up-close experience of the majestic glacier.
After your descent back to the lodge, the staff will be waiting with a hot lunch. The second half of your day is spent at leisure. You may opt to soak in our outdoor jacuzzi, indulge in a relaxing massage, or even take a long nap. (Please let us know ahead of time if you would like to book a massage.)
Note: While the morning hike to Lake Humantay is optional, we strongly recommend your participation in preparation for the strenuous hike on day three.
Trekking Time: Approximately 4 hours. Hiking Level: Moderate to challenging.
Overnight: Salkantay Lodge at 3,869 m/12,690 ft.
Day Five Thursday, March 30th – Soraypampa | Crossing The Salkantay Pass
Day five is the longest and most strenuous day, but arguably the most magical day of the trek. After an early start, you hike up the Rio Blanco valley, circling Humantay Peak. As you gradually make your way up these mountain trails, you will encounter expansive plateaus dotted with boulders of varying sizes, the remnants of a valley that was once bisected by a fast-flowing river.
The final and most challenging part of your ascent is conquering the mountain switchbacks that take you to the Salkantay Pass, the highest point on the trek (4,636 m/15,213 ft). What follows is a dramatic descent through fields of giant boulders, often shrouded in fog.
After a very welcome hot picnic lunch, you will continue down through bucolic rolling hills and marsh-like plateaus as you take your final steps to the Wayra Lodge at Wayraccmachay. The most remote of our lodges, Wayra sits on a promontory that offers a spectacular view of the “other” side of Mt. Humantay, a reminder of how far you have journeyed that day.
Trekking Time: 6-8 hours (including lunch).
Hiking Level: Challenging, crossing a 4,638m (15,213 ft) mountain pass.
Overnight: Wayra Lodge at 3,906 m/12,812 ft.
Day Six Friday, March 31st – Wayraccmachay | Descending Into The Cloud Forest
After a leisurely breakfast at the Wayra Lodge, you continue the descent along the banks of the Salkantay River through increasingly verdant scenery. The warm air begins to rise from the edge of the jungle, accompanied by colorful butterflies and striking orchids.
Today you will see more of the local people as the trail takes you past their simple homes and makeshift fences. At lunchtime, you will arrive at Colpa Lodge by an amazing zip-line, located on a high promontory at the confluence of three rivers.
You are greeted by the staff with a Pachamanca lunch, a traditional Peruvian meal cooked in the earth by hot stones that create a natural underground oven. After lunch, spend the afternoon lounging in the sun or relaxing in the outdoor jacuzzi while you take in the panoramic views of the lush green mountains that surround you.
Trekking Time: 3-4 hours.
Hiking Level: Easy to moderate.
Overnight: Colpa Lodge at 2,870 m/9,414 ft.
Day Seven Saturday, April 1st – Collpapampa | Following The Santa Teresa River Valley
Today you will hike in the Santa Teresa River valley where you will hop over small streams fed by waterfalls descending from the glaciers and cross through fruit orchards.
After breaking for a hot picnic lunch by the river, you will walk for one hour before we meet an MLP vehicle for a short drive to the beginning of the “Llactapata Inca Trail” which leads us to Lucma Lodge. On the way, you will visit an organic coffee plantation, one of many in that area that produces some of the best organic coffee in the world.
You will also begin to notice another shift in the climate. Here in Lucmabamba, the hot air and increased humidity signal that you are even closer to the edge of the Amazon Jungle.
Trekking Time: 5-6 hours (including lunch).
Hiking Level: Moderate to challenging (because of distance, not terrain).
Overnight: Lucma Lodge at 2,135 m/7,003 ft.
Day Eight Sunday, April 2nd – Lucmabamba | Exploring Llactapata Pass
During a 2-3 hour climb up a path mostly comprised of original Inca steps, you will get a sense of what hiking through the rainforest would be like. A lush treeline creates green canopies overhead and the constant sound of rushing water suggests that the river is still nearby.
Your first milestone today will be the top of the peak, the last one before you reach the Aobamaba River valley that connects you to Machu Picchu. When you arrive at the ruins of Llactapata at the Llactapata Pass (2,736 m/8,974 ft), you will be delighted to see a southeast view of the “back” of the Machu Picchu ruins, a sight few travelers ever get a chance to admire. At this point you will also take a short break to explore Llactapata, and then have lunch a bit farther down the trail in a meadow with panoramic views.
The final descent toward the roaring Aobamba River takes you through lush bamboo forests, as well as more fruit orchards and coffee plantations, until you end the day’s hike at the Hidroelectrica train station. A one-hour scenic train ride delivers you to your final stop, the town of Aguas Calientes at the base of Machu Picchu.
Trekking Time: 4-6 hours.
Hiking Level: Moderate to challenging.
Overnight: Hotel in Aguas Calientes at 1,900 m/6,232 ft.
Day Nine Monday, April 3rd – Machu Picchu Sanctuary
GROUP ACTIVITY: Machu Picchu Sanctuary guided tour and hike. Depart from the hotel for the bus ride to Machu Picchu Sanctuary. Guided tour of the Inka citadel.
Optional Activities:
CULTURAL ACTIVITY: Free time in Machu Picchu to explore the ruins on your own. Recommended excursion to the Sun Gate.
HIKE: Huayna Picchu (subject to availability)Guided hike of Huayna Picchu mountain, 2 – 2.5 hours moderate to challenging, a mountain pass at an elevation of 8,924′ – 2,720 m.
Day Ten Tuesday, April 4th- AGUAS CALIENTES | INCLUDED EXTRA DAY
One additional night at the Inkaterra Pueblo Hotel with dinner on day 9, breakfast and lunch on day 10. Enjoy an extra day to rest and recover in the beautiful town of Aguas Calientes at our lovely hotel. Explore the grounds or play tourist in the town and transfer back to Cusco from Ollantaytambo. We’ve checked off ALL of the important things on our list of “stuff that makes for an amazing adventure”, but there are a few things we couldn’t fit on the list…
For instance, how could we possibly describe the feeling you’ll get from truly connecting with other humans who get you, who see you, and who are in it with you as you hold on tight for the journey of a lifetime?
And what words could we rightly choose to adequately describe what it’s like to share an experience that’s deeply moving, with others who are just as moved as you?
It seems impossible to explain the deep bonds forged from spending cherished hours together, laughing, feeling joy, and maybe sharing a few tears with people who come to know you on a different and deeper level than you’ve ever experienced…
It’s the stuff of magic and exactly what happens when you travel with our Bee The Wellness community.
And really, if you’re not sure that Peru is the retreat for you or if you still have any doubt in your mind, let’s jump on a call and you can get a sample-size bite of who we are and hear our first-hand tales of the adventure to come that we hope you’ll join.

“One of the best, if not the best, vacations that I have ever had.”
“The 2018 Peru retreat was one of the best, if not the best, vacations that I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Vanessa and Adam are amazing hosts – caring and compassionate, attending to the needs of all guests. They somehow manage to make sure that groups, such as ours, with vastly different needs, skills and abilities stay happy, engaged and motivated. My wife and I will absolutely attend future events with Adam and Vanessa!”

“It’s something you just have to experience for yourself.”
“I highly recommend the Peru retreat. It is special. Words cannot do it justice. It’s a very personal journey, but one you take with love and support from coaches, guides, and other Bees. The hiking is challenging, the accommodations and food are wonderful, the scenery is spectacular. But that really doesn’t even scratch the surface. It’s something you just have to experience for yourself, and you should.”

The Journey Not The Destination.
“It really is hard to describe this trip in words other than it has been more of an energy that will always be with me and affected me like no other trip. It was the epitome of it is the journey, not the destination. In my mind, it was all about Machu Picchu but it was so much more. From having something to look forward to for almost a year, training for the adventure, packing and knowing I was with an amazing group of people and traveling pretty much stress-free. Peru is such a beautiful country the people, landscape, food, colors and of course the llamas. I will definitely be back!!”
“If you are on the fence, don’t be! Go!”“The 2019 Peru retreat was absolutely life-changing. Vanessa and Adam are a stellar team who are passionate about cultivating community and connection within the framework of every experience they offer, and our trip to Peru did not fall short. They are highly skilled at facilitating small groups: from periodic de-briefs and check-ins to seamlessly orchestrating the daily activities, I felt as if the entire trip was curated with the utmost care and the best intent for everyone to have the time of their lives. Vanessa and Adam have truly mastered the concept of “balance” during their retreats. I highly recommend this trip (or any other!) for anyone who may be considering it… If you are on the fence, don’t be! Go!”

“This is your adventure; Peru is welcoming you home.”
“My Peru adventure began about a year before the departure date, as soon as I committed and said yes. The physical experience began immediately because signing up for a Bee the Wellness adventure is a stellar way to keep your healthy lifestyle on track or to expand daily practices. There is just suddenly a lot of motivation in the anticipation. The joy of exploration is also present as soon as you sign up, long before you board the plane. I began reading about Peru past and present, talking with other people about the country, learning more about hiking gear… just basically dreaming about Peru. The particular itinerary for this hiking trip to Machu Picchu is incredible. Hiking the Trail to the sacred city is the elite Inca nature immersion experience. The luxury lodges are mind-blowing for the Peruvian hospitality provided in such remote, naturally pristine locations. My Peru journey was shared with a phenomenal group of people, and my experience was deeply personal too; it still is. I encourage anyone with a spark of interest to take this voyage, to step in and start connecting with the spirit and wisdom of the Andes mountains, jungles, and cloud forests in between. The earth and ancestors will meet you at your core on this trip. This is your adventure; Peru is welcoming you home.”

“Adam and Vanessa could not possibly do more to make this the trip of a lifetime for you. They’ve got your back months prior to ever touching down in Cusco, ensuring that your fitness is in place prior to leaving. From the minute you arrive, they look after you, accounting for each and every detail that will make your trip a pure masterpiece. They have mapped out (and themselves, experienced), what you will experience from altitude adjustments to finding hot water bottles in your bed, but all the while recognizing that this is your journey where certain flexibility is warranted therein and sense when you need to be left in your own headspace to take in all that you are experiencing.”
“It was very challenging, and yet I felt safe and capable the entire time.”
“Words to describe the BTW Peru 2019 trip include: magical, transformational, stunning, physically and emotionally challenging (climbing up over 15,000 feet!), delicious, incredibly well organized, and just what I needed! Adam and Vanessa are a great team to lead a trip like this. It was very challenging, and yet I felt safe and capable the entire time. They did a great job creating that environment, from the preparatory exercises in the Vimify app to holding space for our fears and growth during the trip. Truly awesome, in so many ways! Also, it’s a great value for the money!”

“The Peru adventure with BTW was everything we hoped it would be, and more! Great accommodations, fabulous food, amazing guides who shared their knowledge of the trail, people, culture, and ruins, and great travel companions. The trip was physically and mentally challenging, but incredibly fun and rewarding – Vanessa and Adam made sure everyone felt safe and also provided opportunities to grow and rise to the challenges of the trek. This has been one of the most amazing and rewarding trips we have ever taken, and we’d do it all over again – not to be missed!”

I trusted Adam and Vanessa, and they crushed it!
“I have never really been on a trip that was fully planned. I usually don’t trust anyone to create a better travel experience better than I could. I trusted Adam and Vanessa, and they crushed it. It was a seamless VIP experience that was as physically challenging as it was decadent and relaxing. I can’t wait to go on another trip with BTW.”
“My experience at the Bee The Wellness Peru retreat was nothing short of life changing.”
“My experience at the Bee The Wellness Peru retreat was nothing short of life-changing. It was my first time out of the country, and I had no issues at all with the travel and felt well prepared for both the travel and trek. The trek itself was so much more than just hiking – we were immersed in the local culture and experienced local food and locally grown and roasted coffee, and learned about the Incan culture as our guides skillfully navigated us along the technical and challenging route towards Machu Picchu. The accommodations were outstanding, and the hospitality we experienced was perfect. This trip, our trek and adventure, and the energy of the group itself are going to be tough to beat on our next trip!”

There is great hiking, fabulous chalets, food and guides and scenery is absolutely stunning! When was the last time you returned from holiday and felt thoroughly rested, refreshed and inspired? Go on, Peru is waiting!”
